| I'm here. Still alive. I'm tired, but that's life. I feel like there's a lot going on, but this may not be the place to express all of that. Overall, I'm doing pretty good. College is working its way to the end and I'm actually pretty freaked out by it. I'm not sure what I'm going to do once I graduate. I'm fearful of finding a job that's in my major (which is Religion w/ a Youth Ministry concentration). I'm pretty sure that I'll do the seminary/ grad school thing later. I'm excited that Obama got elected. Who knows what will happen with that?! I'm just hoping that it turns out for the better. Jenn (roommate) and I broadcasted the returns on the campus radio station. It was exciting with all the people waiting to see which way Ohio would swing. The scene was just fantastic when CNN projected that Obama had won. Everyone was jumping around, clapping, shouting, and high-fiving. It was my first time to vote so I was really excited to see what would come of it. Like I said though, I'm tired... physically and mentally. Senioritis is taking its toll on me and I know I don't have far to go. I'm at that point of trying to find a cosigner or something because I need a loan to finish my last semester. It's frustrating and especially difficult now because the banks have tightened their criteria. Jenn's in the same boat. Well, besides that frustration, things are still great between Tim and me. It's been two years since we started dating. If you haven't met him, let me just say that he is really a great guy. I'm gunna finish this off and maybe in another four or five months I'll post again... he he he... Peace & Love, Dawn | | |

| So, new movie The Golden Compass is causing quite an uproar. It is based on an English Author and Atheist's trilogy, a man named Philip Pullman. The trilogy is a story of a young girl and her fight against a church. I have read an article that said that Pullman was very open about being atheistic and promoting this belief by bashing Christianity.Obviously this is causing quite a controversy. Here's what I have to say: I am a Christian. I am very delighted with the Chronicles of Narnia series by C.S. Lewis, actually ecstatic! But I don't think that Christians should feel threatened by The Golden Compass. Why? Because Christianity is not on a decline. It has been around for ages and much more than one man's outspoken books becoming a film would be needed to stop Christianity. I really think that we as Christians should respect another's views and perhaps learn from them in order to reach out to people who don't believe in our God. By prohibiting our children to view the film they'll only want to see it more, that is human nature. I think we should take this as an opportunity to teach our children about the fact that their are people who do not believe in the same things. If we don't we will only push our children farther away or teach them to be close-minded and ignorant. Which is worse? I find it interesting that Christians are threatened when I read that Pullman proudly promotes his Atheistic views. Christians proudly promote their views and no one is threatened because Christianity is mainstream in our American society. Pullman is doing the same thing as Christians, but he is being viewed as though he is a terrorist. Do Atheists not have the same rights as Christians to express their views? If not, why? I don't feel threatened by this movie. I'm excited to find other views being expressed. We all have the right to express what we believe and disagree with whatever we want to. I'm going to see The Golden Compass and in May I'll be watching Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian | | |

| Hey all! I'm doing pretty well. This week has a full slate, but once I make it past tomorrow (at about 2 pm, to be exact) I'll be great. Fall break (aka 4 day weekend) is this weekend. Definitely excited! I'm going to Tim's house, that's the boy, fyi. We're just gunna chill, which is pretty much a requirement for me this weekend. I've got so much to do right now. Two papers (one I wrote 2 weeks ago b/c I thought it was due 2 weeks ago) and a presentation. At least Thursdays aren't slow for me. After that I just have a few classes on Friday and I'm out! On a different side of things my family adopted a 7 year old female Spaniel Terrier mix named Buddy. I haven't gotten to see her yet cuz she's at home and I'm in Ohio. But, some friends and I are thinking about going to see Rent (Broadway) at Braden Auditorium (ISU) in a few weeks. So I would get to see my new dog and Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp! That would rock... oh and I'd get to see my family. I'm doing well beyond all that. I just need a break. And we have one soon... just two more days... bah! K, well, I'm done here.
